How do school professionals experience and apply SSCC during difficult interactions? 12–20 participants; interviews, logs, artifacts.
After training, participants complete a brief end-of-day survey for 4–6 weeks: how many times they applied SSCC that day, a short open-text description of the situation(s), and a 1–5 helpfulness rating. Low participant burden; captures frequency, real-world context, and perceived value in the same daily check-in.
Estimate acceptability, feasibility, and preliminary change in knowledge or self-efficacy. 30–60 participants; pre/post/follow-up.
Develop and validate an SSCC knowledge, fidelity, or scenario-performance measure through expert review and cognitive interviews.
Compare trained and matched comparison groups on adult practice and student-perception outcomes across multiple sites.
Study how leadership, role clarity, coaching, and school climate affect adoption at one or more sites.
Examine how students interpret adult use of dignity, clarity, and follow-through — or whether impact differs by student identity.
These materials require review and adaptation through your institution's academic and ethical-review processes.
Because I developed SSCC and may benefit professionally from its success, that interest must be disclosed. Independent collaborators, transparent methods, preregistration when appropriate, and honest reporting of null or negative findings will strengthen the work.
