TierReady  |  from RoseThread Learning

MTSS your site teams can actually run.

Structure, tools, and coaching that start with a strong Tier 1 and turn multi tiered systems of support from a district plan into something every campus does well, every week. Aligned to the California MTSS framework and Community Schools goals.

The problem

Most districts say they do MTSS. Far fewer can run it.

The framework is on paper. But on the ground, site teams struggle to keep it going.

Data meetings drift

Teams meet, look at numbers, and leave without clear decisions or follow through.

Tier 2 depends on the campus

Interventions look different at every school, and nobody is sure what is working.

Leaders inherit systems

New assistant principals and coordinators step into structures no one ever trained them to run.

Our focus

It starts with Tier 1.

Tier 2 and Tier 3 can't make up for a weak foundation. When universal supports are strong, most students' needs are met in the classroom, and intensive supports can go to the students who truly need them. That's why TierReady puts Tier 1 first.

How it works

Everything a site team needs, in one place.

Online learning path

Short, practical modules for site leadership teams, starting with strong Tier 1 systems, then data based decision making, Tier 2 and Tier 3 supports, and fidelity.

Ready to use templates

Data meeting agendas, intervention trackers, PBIS reinforcement systems, and action planning tools your teams can use the same week.

Live coaching

Regular live sessions with Dr. Mathy to troubleshoot real problems, review data, and keep momentum through the year.

Adult skills track

Built on the SSCC Practice™, so leaders are ready for the hard conversations with staff and families that tiered systems require.

Aligned to the frameworks you already use

Built on the California MTSS framework.

TierReady doesn't add another initiative. It helps your teams run the system California districts are already building, and connect it to the funding and partnerships behind it.

California MTSS

One coordinated system of support

Aligned to the California Department of Education's MTSS framework and the California MTSS model: academic, behavioral, and social emotional supports organized into one tiered system for every student.

Integrated supports

PBIS, SEL, and restorative practice together

Brings PBIS, social emotional learning, restorative practices, attendance, and school counseling into the same data routines and teams, instead of running them as separate programs.

Community Schools

Grant alignment and support

Helps districts connect MTSS to California Community Schools Partnership Program goals: integrated student supports, family and community engagement, collaborative leadership, and extended learning, plus LCAP alignment.

Grounded in research and practice

Built on what actually gets people on board.

Systems don’t change people. People change systems.

That belief is why broad buy in sits at the center of TierReady. It draws on two things: my doctoral research and my work leading tiered systems as a district MTSS coordinator.

  • Research on professional learning. My doctoral study examined high school teachers' perspectives on professional development and SEL integration after COVID. Teachers asked for practical application, modeling, leadership alignment, time, and follow through, and TierReady is designed around those needs.
  • Building broad buy in. I've shared strategies for getting teams on board as an edWeb panelist on MTSS buy in.
  • A districtwide PBIS initiative. Across 11 schools, every school earned California PBIS recognition, from Bronze to Gold, using a gradual release model that moved ownership from the district to site teams.

Who it's for

Designed for the people who run the system.

District leaders

MTSS, student services, and curriculum leaders who need consistent implementation across every site.

Site leadership teams

Principals, assistant principals, counselors, and teacher leaders who run MTSS day to day.

New administrators

Leaders stepping into systems they did not build and need to run well from day one.

Become a founding district.

I'm partnering with a small group of founding districts to shape TierReady. Founding partners get hands on support and a direct say in what we build.
